Description

Vice President, WD Biotech

Juliet Stein is vice president of WD Biotech, a biotech investment company focused on start-ups in the alternative protein space, with an emphasis on Israeli companies and collaborations. She has had over ten years’ experience in the food space, having studied ethnobotany at University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate and graduate career, eventually working in their archaeo-botany laboratory and guest lecturing undergraduate and graduate classes. After a few years of undercover activism in large-scale agriculture, she co-founded WD Biotech to combat the growing challenges of food insecurity in the age of climate change. She enjoys helping food companies grow using cutting edge technology, enhanced brand presence, and taking advantage of industry trends. When she’s not working with founders and their food, Juliet is a competitive dancer, longevity advocate, health-and-wellness practitioner, and entheogen botanist. She has been active in the Jewish philanthropic space for over fifteen years and is the director of the Max and Bella Stein Charitable Trust, a philanthropic organization dedicated to Jewish education and Israel advocacy. A former board member of Jewish National Fund Futures Philadelphia Chapter, she is part of two book clubs, lives in Rittenhouse with her small dog, Princess Peanut, and owns a small farm in Gladwyne with donkeys, goats, sheep, hens, and barn cats. When she’s not presenting at a technology conference in Israel, or struggling through postures in a yoga class, you can find her buried in her favorite novel.
